NEAAAT students and staff train local educators in AI
The Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies (NEAAAT) recently hosted a complimentary AI training session for educators from various local public schools, including Dare, Currituck, Edenton-Chowan, Tyrell, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake, as well as representatives from College of the Albemarle and Elizabeth City State University and NC Department of Public Instruction.
The training aimed to equip educators with essential knowledge about the evolving role of AI in daily life, particularly within and beyond the classroom setting. Attendees participated in hands-on application sessions using various AI tools. As NEAAAT instructional coach Lana Neal emphasized, "This isn’t about technology taking over — it’s about teachers, schools, and communities leading the conversation."
Additional sessions offered during the training included:
Smarter Prompts, Better Outcomes
Unlocking AI's Magic: Empowering Educators & Students
To Catch a Cheat: An Academic Integrity Simulation for K-12
Come on AI, Save Me Some Time!
Shatoya Covert from ECSU remarked, "This is one of the best experiences I have had in a long time."
