Thank you for your interest in joining the NEAAAT family! The 2020-2021 Application for Admission is now open!

Admission to the Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies (NEAAAT) will be determined by a lottery held on May 9, 2020. Applications must be mailed and postmarked, emailed, or submitted through the Lotterease online application system between January 1, 2020 and April 30, 2020 to be entered into the lottery. Applications received after April 30 at 11:59pm will be added to the post-lottery waitlist according to the order in which they are received.

Students may apply for admission to the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th. There will be no seats available in grades 10-12 for the upcoming school year.

Applicants from prior years must submit the 2020-21 application to be considered for admission; no admissions preference shall be given to previous year applicants.  Students currently enrolled in NEAAAT do not need to re-apply.

Please stay tuned to our Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/NEAAAT, and our school website for information about recruiting events and activities, including parent information sessions and hands-on opportunities for students to engage with our coaches and students this spring.

How to Apply

There are three ways to apply for admission to NEAAAT: in-person paper application, emailed application, and our preferred method, the Lotterease all-digital application

No matter which application best fits your needs, please know that we’re here to help! Our admissions team is available from 8:30am-4:00pm daily and can be reached at (252) 562-0653. If you prefer to contact our data manager, Ms. Dana Harrison, directly, simply email your questions to her at danaharrison@northeastacademy.org.

Lotterease All-Digital Application (Preferred Method)

We’re pleased to partner with Lotterease for this year’s lottery! Lotterease is a fully electronic public charter school admissions system that allows parents and students to view their application status throughout the admissions process. Applicants receive immediate confirmation that their application has been received, and they can view their lottery number and admission status at any time. From the initial application to lottery day and throughout the waitlist and enrollment period, the admissions process has never been so user-friendly and transparent. Simply click the link below to get started!

Emailed Application

Applications may also be downloaded, scanned, and submitted by email to our data manager, Ms. Dana Harrison, at danaharrison@northeastacademy.org. Due to the high volume of applications we receive each day, we ask that you please allow 48 hours for email confirmation that your application has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation that we have received your application within this 48-hour window, please do not hesitate to contact us at (252) 562-0653.

In-Person Paper Application

Individuals who wish to submit a traditional hard copy of the application for admission may obtain paper applications from our main office in the ITC Building on the campus of Elizabeth City State University, which is located along Fine Arts Way. Most visitors comment that the building is most readily recognized by its solid blue roof. Alternatively, paper applications can be downloaded from the links below, printed, and hand delivered to our school or mailed to NEAAAT, PO Box 2889, Elizabeth City, NC 27906. Please allow at least 5 business days from the time that you mail your application for us to process it and confirm receipt before contacting our school.

Lotterease Seal

What is the Lotterease Seal of Transparency and Fairness?

When you see the Seal on a school website, you can be confident that your application will be included in the school lottery in a fair and transparent way.

That is because Lotterease is an independent automated lottery system that the school uses to manage their lottery and waitlist.  Since Lotterease is an independent system, the school staff do not have the ability to manipulate or adjust the lottery outcome.  They must work within the requirements of the system.

In addition, all activity that takes place with your application is tracked in a history log that you can view at any time by logging into the parent portal.

If the school you want your child to attend displays the Lotterease Seal of Transparency and Fairness, you can rest assured that you child will get their fair chance to attend the school.
